Basic Blinds

Overview

Generate a vertical or horizontal stack of slat-shaped/rectangular polygons to give the appearance of blinds behind a window, which is suitable for exterior arch-viz shots.

How to useā€¦

  1. Select one mesh item
  2. Select the top and bottom polygon from the rear of a Sash or Casement window.
  3. Set options
  4. Click “Apply”

Options

Reset Values
Reset values to their default. Note: Click this reset button before using this tool for the first time.
Angle
The amount of rotation given to the blind's slats.
Size
The depth of the blind's slats.
Offset
The distance that the blinds sit away from the rear of the window geometry.
Type
The type of blind to be build. Options are horizontal (venetian) or vertical.
Apply
Create the blind geometry.

Tips

  • Vertical blinds work best for offices and buildings that have tall windows.
  • This tool can be used with both vertical and roof window polygons.

Limitations

  • Only supports rectangular polygons.
  • Selected polygons must be quads i.e. contain only 4 vertices.
  • Does not support X-up axis coordinate space.
